What happened to "us"?  A nurse murders a new mother in Texas, with the plan to steal her child.

Two teens laid on the jogging trail near Orlando, while someone poured whatever over their dead bodies and started to burn them.

Children killing children.  Parents killing babies.  Husbands murdering wives.  Did we lose our "souls"?  Do we have any moral stem left at all?

Or is this really the beginning of the pattern of self-destruction of mankind, as a nation watches such hate take over, as blood covers us all?

We can never claim to be leaders, of anyone if we are not capable of stopping our own issues of such violence.

The words are the beginning of the actions...then, the physicality of those words as one strikes another...and finally, the destruction. 

Rich against the poor; poor against the rich.  Whites against the blacks and the story repeats itself, no matter what the year is.  The ravaging of innoncense, as children are victims of terror from perpetrators.  The scalding of the elderly as they are left to live in solitare and fear.

How can a nation of human beings project to protect anyone, if we cannot begin right at home in our own spot on this planet, to care for each other?
