NO EXCUSE!!!!!  None!  When, Jeb Bush first came into Tallahassee as a governor, he came with NO experience in dealing with a bueracracy.

He came in as a investor with a business background wanting to cut expenses.  DCF caseworkers were eliminated from desk jobs and personnal contact with clients.

The phone system became the link to the workers eventually.  Contracts were handed to the Salvation Army to monitor prison release clients.

The State of Florida DCF system became weak and is even more so now.

A child was reported missing from the system....a child was found dead, that should have not only been removed from the caretaker but saved from torture.

DCF was even regulated into taking over unemployment programs and the elder care needs of the state.  Too much for too many very incapable people to handle.

The governor right down to the case workers are equally guilty of the crimes and the deaths of the victims.

Politicians sit in air-conditioned quiet rooms and look at the numbers and slice at the list. They do not see the people behind those numbers that are in need of help. Abuse on children and seniors is a very serious problem in America.

For Florida with a high volume of senior citizens, the need is high for workers to get on-the-road and visit nursing homes and elder care facilities on a constant basis. Senator Mike Bennett, Bradenton, Fl tried to pass a bill, four years ago to cut back on those visits to protect the elderly.

JeB Bush started cutting back on workers going out to check on children living in abusive situations. The case loads for DCF caseworkers was tremendous and the needs were great. Yet, he sliced the staffing and put them on the phone system.

A woman signed a complaint against her husband for abuse. She was left in the cycle of space where no one got into the face of the abuser and prevented his return. He returned one afternoon and as the woman walked towards her house, the husband sliced into her skull with a brick left in the grass.

Children living with a parent that was evidently in need of being put-away, were not removed to a safe-home for care. They were returned to the abusive father....who killed one child....harmed the other....at what point does a system that receives funds...has a director that will always claim a 6-figure income....GET OUT and help the underdogs in America???

Evidently, there will always be excuses as to "why" someone could not help....someone could not step-out-of-the-box.....!!! Garbage!!!! This is not an advanced society, as one would believe. This is a group of people that will either survive...because they have the means to do so....or a group of people that will die a slow death by torture, because no one came outside the ivory tower to help them!

For every soul involved in these cases. they ought to be charged with child neglect....for they saw the abuse towards these boys and they failed to save them!!!!! Holding people responsible for their decisions...and lack of doing what is right. should be the case.

Just like the seniors in care facilities that linger in soiled beds and hungry from a lack of staffing to take care of them. The state wants the funds...yet, fails to help the people.

Republicans have made changes...and they don't "see" nor do they "hear"! I was around Salvation Army, when I saw the workers that were hired under a state contract between SA and the State. A worker was in charge of prison-release clients. She had NO education in dealing with the criminal mind. Her daughter dated one of her charges.

When workers are employed to be responsible for human beings, then they should come into the job with the knowledge and the experience. NO one seeing a child being hurt, or with the knowledge of that danger should turn their back and walk out the door.

There is a woman working as a director of an assisted-living facility with a felony charge on her....and the state KNOWS it. Yet, she makes decisions for ALZ patients and the elderly in her care.
