Without constant reminders of the sexually contacted disease being a killer, the public of all ages is touching the fire and getting badly and permanetly burned.

The curse of syphilis is that it does not show up in some cases for many years. There is no cure and the disease is devastating to all involved.

"Devil-may-care" attitude remains with the seniors, as some WWII vets are now entering the dating scene after the wife passed away.

Fifteen years ago, I had a boss that would brag about his exploits as a teen in the 1950's, when kids with saddle shoes and loafers thought they could rule the world. Sex was a part of the NEW freedoms that they found to be the norm after the WWII win.....now, those men and their fathers that still linger are hearing the words from the doctor.

The new bride kissed her husband goodbye in the late 60's as he went to base overseas. Ten years after the marriage had ended in divorce, the wife got the news from the doctor....proof that the husband had not been faithful.
